CRM Mac Real Estate Software

There are two notable Macintosh Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software products for real estate agents. The first is a Filemaker-based product called REST, and the second is a web-based product called RealtyJuggler. Both software products run on the Mac as well as Microsoft Windows platforms. This is an advantage in that many Mac users also have a PC as well. While the selection of products is limited for Mac real estate software users, the quality of the options available is excellent. Both products have a loyal customer base and the developers of both products have been around several years and have maintained their products through continual series of upgrades and improvements.

Both products have the key features a realtor needs to track prospects and deals including sending letters, DRIP email and the like. REST seems to have a greater focus on marketing, and a more limited feature set, while RealtyJuggler has additional capabilities in the areas of tracking of deals, rental management. However, the largest differences between these two products are technical in nature.

REST (also known as Real Estate Success Tools) is an add-on to the popular Filemaker database. It runs as an application and costs $400 / user. The software must be installed on your computer and licenses must be purchased for each computer you install REST on. It is your responsibility to maintain backup copies of your database in the event of hard drive failure or loss of your computer. Since the data resides on your hard drive, you can access it without needing to be on the Internet. However, sharing information with a partner or assistant, or accessing the information from multiple locations, is not straightforward. The company offers a special version which allows your master computer to share information with additional computers. However, it is your responsibility to maintain a "server" computer, which additional computers access to permit sharing.

RealtyJuggler real estate software runs as a web site. There is no software to install. RealtyJuggler has been optimized to run on any standards based web browser such as Apple's Safari web browser as well as Internet Explorer (Microsoft Windows) and the Firefox web browser. Since the software runs as a service, it is purchased as a subscription for $99 / year / user. Upgrades are included with the subscription and are automatically applied when you sign in. The database is multi-user allowing easy sharing of information with partners or assistants. Since the data resides on an internet "cloud", the database is automatically redundantly backed up for you. if your computer should crash or get stolen, your data will not be lost.

Macintosh users can be rather picky about the user interface of the software they use. In both bases, the user interface is reasonably consistent and integrates well with existing Mac real estate software applications.

Both products are available on a free-trial basis so the best way to evaluate the products is to check them out yourself. It is likely that one of these two choices will appeal to you. Since they each take radically different approaches to real-estate CRM, your selection will likely be based upon both the specific capabilities of the system as well as the technical underpinnings of how each works.
